Welcome to the family, Asus X59SR. Asus, despite your funny motto (perhaps it sounds better in Chinese?) I've heard good things so I hope you live up to it. I'll even put up with you running Vista if you behave well enough. Your specs are to my liking, setup was painless, bloatware nearly nonexistent, and you were pretty reasonable on the wallet, so I think this could be the start of something really good. If things go as planned you should stay relevant for many years to come.
It's annoying to migrate everything over, but it shouldn't take too long. It arrived last Wednesday and it's been a slow process of finding enough time to give it the attention it deserves.
In the meantime, I'll be using the old hard drive as backup and cannibalizing the other parts. So far I've been successful selling the motherboard I tried swapping in; next step is the old girl herself. 4.5 years is a respectable age, and maybe someone else can get a couple more out of her. Or at least her parts.
