Movember

A successful first year of participation. This was the first time I'd shaved in two and a half years, but it's nice to change it up sometimes. And I have to say that after a month of wearing some fur on my upper lip it started to look, dare I say, normal.

There was a Movember gala the night of December 1st to celebrate finishing the month. The founder of Movember, an Australian, was there, and it was neat to hear about how it started just as an excuse with some friends (before the hipsters made it semi-popular) to grow mustaches. The following year, they decided to make it into a fundraiser, and from that year on have been by far the largest single donor to prostate cancer research in the world. This year capped off with 850,000 participants and $100,000,000 raised worldwide. Not too shabby.
